Director of Residential Education    

University of Denver                                                        

This role involves directing and overseeing the residential and educational programs for all student populations within the housing system. It includes leading the development of residential communities and collaborating with the Living & Learning program. The role provides leadership to a large team, including Associate and Assistant Directors, Resident Directors, and over 100 student staff, and oversees front desk operations for student and family outreach.

Key responsibilities include directing departmental assessment efforts, acting as a liaison with critical campus partners, and developing strategic community plans focused on engagement and inclusivity. Additionally, the role oversees marketing, branding, and professional development initiatives, and has established a student-led resident association to enhance student governance. The individual also serves as a Senior Administrator-On-Call for crisis response and participates in elevated student concern reviews as part of the Divisional C.A.R.E. team.

Assistant Director for Student Conduct                      

Elon University

In this role, the primary responsibility was managing cases of social policy violations across the university, including case creation, adjudication, and ongoing maintenance for incidents referred to the Office of Student Conduct, both on and off campus. The role involved investigating complex and severe violations of the Honor Code and Code of Conduct, as well as overseeing the design and implementation of conflict resolution and restorative justice pathways.

Additional duties included recruiting, training, and supervising a graduate-level intern, ensuring a meaningful internship experience. The role required determining appropriate sanctions for students found responsible for violations, serving on the Title IX and Organizational Incident investigation teams, and providing student conduct training to Residence Life professionals and student staff. As a Maxient Conduct database Level 5 administrator, the individual played a crucial role in the university’s conduct management system.

Further responsibilities involved assisting the director with the annual security report (Jeanne Clery Act), facilitating restorative initiatives like dialogue circles and mediation, and designing educational programs to promote personal growth and moral development. The role also included developing educational materials about the Honor Code for campus partners and serving as an Administrator On-Call to provide crisis response for a campus of 6,500 students.

Community Director for the Danieley Center Neighborhood      

Elon University

This role involved providing leadership and supervision for a team consisting of undergraduate student staff, a master’s-level coordinator, and a full-time administrative program assistant. The responsibilities included overseeing the operations and facilities for flat-style and apartment-style housing, accommodating around 750 predominantly first- and second-year students. The role required collaboration with a live-in faculty director to deliver a leadership-focused residential experience that integrated intellectual and social engagement.

Key accomplishments included creating a strategic neighborhood plan emphasizing engagement and inclusivity, collaborating with campus partners to enhance student leadership through neighborhood-specific programming, and launching a branding initiative to foster neighborhood identity and pride. The role also involved establishing a student-led resident association, administering a budget exceeding $22,000, and serving as an Administrator On-Call for crisis response. Additionally, the role included identifying and planning neighborhood traditions and initiatives, as well as leading monthly neighborhood association meetings with a diverse group of campus representatives.

Hall Director                    

Winston-Salem State University

This role involved overseeing a community of 275 upper-class students residing in a traditional apartment-style building. Key responsibilities included collaborating with the faculty-in-residence to coordinate the Women in Science and Health Themed Housing, as well as selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating a team of 8 Resident Advisors. The role also included managing a programming and staff development budget exceeding $4,500 and assisting in the coordination of housekeeping and facilities management for the residential community.

Additional achievements included establishing the Foundation Heights Council by drafting the hall council constitution and recruiting seven hall council members. The individual also served in the Hall Director on-call rotation, providing crisis emergency response for the university campus, which encompassed seven residential communities and over 2,200 students. In the realm of student conduct, the role included serving as a hearing officer for Housing & Residence Life policy violations, advocating for students in the conduct process for elevated violations, and presenting evidence on behalf of the university in cases that could result in severe sanctions such as suspension or expulsion.

Residence Director                         

NC State University

In this role, the primary responsibility was overseeing a vibrant residential community of 750 residents, including undergraduate, graduate, and international students, across five apartment buildings. This rolemanaged a team of 13 Resident Advisors, handling their selection, training, supervision, and performance evaluation. Additionally, this role effectively managed a budget exceeding $14,000 for programming and staff development. As an advisor to the Wolf Ridge Advisory Council, [Name] recruited 14 hall council members and managed a budget of $2,800 for council activities.

This role also included participating in an on-call rotation as residence director, providing crisis emergency response for four apartment communities with over 2,000 residents. In this capacity, this role co-advised student diversity trips to New Orleans and Nashville, focusing on leadership development and cultural diversity. this role developed and implemented a learning-based programming model based on Schlossberg’s Transition Theory and Astin’s Social Change Model of Leadership, tailored Resident Advisor duty protocols to meet specific community needs, and served as a primary advisor and case manager for University Housing Conduct Board cases. This role recruited and trained a team of seven student justices for the Conduct Board, offered professional development in higher education law, and educated respondents on their rights and responsibilities within the student conduct process.
